Laundry 101 changed management sometime around 2015 and the changes have been universally negative. Laundry 101 is a laundromat with a bar. The machines run for reasonable prices based on quarters, so no wasteful swipe cards to load with cash and pay 37 cents for 5 minutes of dryer time. There is an ATM on site and change machines too. Of the three change machines on site, two have been out-of-order for weeks. Of the four quad loaders, two have had broken settings for well over a year. Anywhere between 25% to 50% of dryers are broken at any given time. L101 is currently in the process of putting in some new washing machines and is taking their dandy time about it, so now there are fewer machines than usual and less space. EDIT: the new machines are in, and they are awful. DO NOT USE THE 30-LB WASHERS TOWARDS THE BACK. Both times I used them, the clothes in the middle of the drum didn't get washed. Not just that they were still dirty, but that they were bone dry. Hadn't even been rinsed. This is normally an issue with overloading, which is why I gave them a second chance, but when I weighed my laundry later it was only 24 pounds, well under the capacity. $3.25 down the drain--twice. Management is NOT customer-friendly, but the college kids who work here are WONDERFUL! When my dryer don't heat up at all and my clothes never got dry, management wouldn't refund my money but the employee on duty took money from his own pocket for my next dryer! Unfortunately the unending kindness of the employees can only do so much. The sharp edges in some of the dryers (from broken metal mesh) put hundreds of small holes in my brand new bedsheets and management pretty much told me that it just sucks to be me. The bar features several beers on tap but no spirits. L101 also has a pool table and several video arcade games. The downside to Laundry 101 serving alcohol is that they serve beer when bars are closed, so local day-drunks tend to stumble in until the bars open. Not only do they smell absolutely disgusting, but they also think that every unaccompanied lady in the building is just there to be hit on. At this point I refuse to do laundry at L101 unless my husband is with me. Conclusion: all laundromats suck and L101 sucks the least, but only barely.
