Memorial Day summer camping kickoff at Lock 30 is one of the greatest times of the summer. The staff is always extremely knowledgeable of the local area with many suggestion of things to do. The bathrooms are spotless, the grounds are equally spotless. This is a 5 STAR resort in my books!! Thank you all for being such wonderful people.
I, too, would not even give this one star if it wasn't forced. My fiancé was called into town to work for 4 months at a power plant in the area, along with two other co-workers. He called her to reserve an RV site. The next day, we received this email (The damn camper has 3 separate beds, so why is it any of the old biddy's business???): We regret to inform you that we will not be able to offer a site to you at Lock 30 Woodlands. As we had discussed at length yesterday, and on one previous phone call, our policies do not permit "teaming" up of multiple workers. Because sites are designed for families in our gated community, up to two adults and their children can share a site (usually the second adult is a spouse or significant other). We occasionally make an exception and allow two non-related workers to share a site for additional cost if one primary remains responsible for all deposits, electric costs etc. Yesterday's reservation request notes--what you said on the phone-- was that there "would be only two " On the basis of that representation, I was willing to make the exception so that you were able to get a site on such short notice. That representation of "two" occupants has now grown to three. There are facilities in the region that will accommodate the flexible occupancy plan that you have requested, but we are not one of them. The best to you in your extended stay housing search. If we can serve you in the future, given the rules and policies we disclose to and expect of all our guests, we will be happy to host your stay. .....I will be contacting legal resources to file a complaint. So glad my fiancé dodged THAT bullet!!!!
