I joined this gym when it opened and stayed with it for about two weeks before I decided it wasn't for me. I went in and canceled my membership at the front desk the employee had me sign a couple of things, I asked if I owed anything else or if I had to pay the yearly maintenance fee and they told me I wouldn't have to I only owed them for one month. Come to find out four months later they never closed my account and I've been paying for a membership I didn't even know I had. Don't let this happen to you I've heard stories about gyms being notorious for this sort of behavior. I didn't believe it untill it happened to me, completely unethical business practice at its finest
update- finely spoke to a GM at planet all the GM did was feed me line after line. Told me to specify when I went in to cancel so the GM could look it up (on CCTV) when I came in. They conveniently can not look up past 30 day's. It'd been months since I had been there. I told the GM I had put a stop payment on their business and they went as far to say that if I did that it could conflict with a competitors payments, false end of story these people want your money they do not care how you feel at the end of the day. You hard earned dollar is voting power in this country use it wisely
