We went into Plat8 for Restaurant Week 2018 and although they had a decent menu for the event, we would have to give this restaurant a C. After making reservations, granted, they were day of, we waited almost 30 minutes for our table. Once inside, the server was not any better. After the order was taken, we found out that one of the entrees we ordered was no longer available. I understand, it happens. We had a 20 minute wait between appetizer and soup/salad, however, both apps and second course tasted great. I did have to get up to get a spoon from a server for my soup after waiting 5 minutes before getting up. Then we got entrees, which were bland but still were enjoyable. During the whole meal, only until half way through the entree were we asked how our food was. We then get the bill and found out that our Jack and Coke that was ordered was $8!!!...$8. Honestly, where do you think you are? You are in Toledo and while Toledo is building and expanding with amazing new ventures, we are not at the point that a regular shot of Jack with some coke should cost $8. The food and the ambiance are the only saving grace of this restaurant, which are average at best.
I went on a Thursday night. It’s a small, cozy place with dim lights. The perfect place for a date. The food is elegant AND tasty. I got 3 entrees, a drink (strong drink) and an appetizer and it was $68! Great prices, nice people, great atmosphere, and great food! I’ll definitely be back!
